Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. The following is a synopsis of my practice.

BUSINESS PLANNING
• Business Succession and Continuation Planning – work with business owners and their advisers to create and structure logical succession plans. Plans encompass internal sales (incorporating much of the concepts detailed below) or preparing for possible external transactions.
• Buy/Sell Agreements – establish the funding mechanism for agreements to protect against disability or death of a partner.
• Key Person Life/Disability Insurance – Helps to reimburse a business for economic loss when an essential employee dies or becomes disabled. Can also be incorporated into employee retention programs (Golden Handcuff’s)
EXECUTIVE BENEFITS
• Supplemental Executive Retirement Plans – Permanent Cash Value Life Insurance typically owned by the business on the lives of Key Executives. The plan should have a vesting period agreed upon by the participants as outlined by a plan document. Premiums paid by the company usually are considered a bonus to the executive in the year paid thus providing a deduction to the business in the year paid.
• Deferred Income Plan – form of non-qualified deferred compensation plan in which the executive can defer current income without the contribution limits of 401(k) plans or IRAs. The employer may at its discretion offer to make matching contributions as specified in the agreement. The executive is always fully vested in the deferrals and typically is entitled to them upon separation from service.
• Non-qualified 401(k) Look – a – Like Plan – often referred to as a Supplemental 401(k), Look -a Like Plans are for key executives provide the same type of save and match strategy but can be attained without being limited by qualified plan contribution limitations. Pursuant to the plan document, the executive is always fully vested in his/her deferrals however a vesting schedule can be imposed for any matching from the business.
