Bio
With thirty years in the banking sector, I am currently a Senior Vice President - Market Executive in the Commercial Lending Department at Fifth Third Bank. I support privately-owned, middle market companies with revenues in the ($20 million to $500 million range). I also work with various non-profit organizations in their capital expansion initiatives through tax-exempt bond financing and new market tax credits to supplement traditional financing options. My clients are involved in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, transportation and logistics, food distribution, assembly, property management, social services and education.
I started the MB Financial (nka Fifth Third Bank) LGBTQ Initiative / LGBTQ Business Resource Group in 2011 which has expanded the Bank’s involvement and support of the LGBTQ Community. Currently, I am member of the Steering Committee of the Chicago Community Trust LGBTQ Fund which serves as a tool to educate the region about LGBT issues and promote effective philanthropy to achieve strategic change. In addition, I am on the board of the Harris Theater.
Growing up in the Philippines, I graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines and completed my MBA at University of Illinois at Chicago.
I am married to Michael Herman, CEO of Chicago House & Social Service Agency. We live in Rogers Park with our son, Adam who is 15 and is now a high school Sophomore at Loyola Academy.
