Yelena Edelstein, Deal Partner at Blackmore Partners Inc., has more than 30 years of experience across the private equity investing, management consulting, and technology sectors.
As Deal Partner of Blackmore Partners, a Chicago-based independent investment firm that specializes in "Executive-Led" investment strategies, Edelstein leads all deal activities with the objective to generate outsized returns above 3x MOIC.
At Blackmore Partners, Edelstein’s responsibilities span the entire deal cycle from investment thesis development, deal origination, due diligence, post-transaction value-creation plan development, business valuation, deal negotiation, to financing and other transaction execution activities.
Edelstein works with senior operating executives on developing high potential investment opportunities and with operationally-focused private equity funds and family offices on financing and transaction execution, across a broad spectrum of industries and transaction types. Additionally, Edelstein continuously builds and nourishes long-term relationships with business owners, operating executives, investors, service providers, and deal sources.
Prior to Blackmore, in 2013-2015, Edelstein was Principal at Amicus Capital Partners – a private equity firm with exclusive focus on the Healthcare sector, and with WMG Capital – a family office focused on the Business Services sector.
Previously, Edelstein founded two independent consulting firms: a technology consultancy specializing in the design and architecture of strategic technology solutions, and a management consultancy focused on business architecture and capability-driven strategies.
Edelstein earned her MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Within her MBA coursework, Edelstein concentrated on competitive strategy, investment/capital structure decisions, international finance, game theory methods, and pricing strategy. Prior to immigrating to the USA, Yelena completed coursework in Mathematics and Informatics at universities in Ukraine and Russia.
